Luftwaffe Blue summer flight jacket
A fine example of the rare and sought after blue light weight flight jacket - often seen on photos of fighter pilots, but very hard to find today.
It has the original and working front zipper (RAPID) and neck closure strap with a PRYM 6 snap. Also the original leather strap for the oxygen hose is in place and in good condition.
On the right breast, the factory sewn EM eagle has been replaced with an officer's eagle, which matches in wear with the jacket, and IMO has a good chance of being period applied.
The elastic waist band remains in good condition and retains most of it's elasticity.
Inside, the original lining and wind cuffs in the sleeves are in place and in good condition, save for a couple of small holes in the lining.
A stamped RBNr is visible but unreadable.
The jacket looks to be the exact same jacket published in 'Luftwaffe vs RAF vol. 1' by Prodger, in the section about flight jackets as well as on the back cover.
Jacket is overall in very nice condition with no fraying around the collar and sleeve ends, which is often seen on these jackets.
